A New Implementation Survey from Softwareadvice.com

The folks at softwareadvice.com are running a new (4-question) survey on ERP implementation strategies, so we'd like to ask any feedingtheecosystem fans that are end-users to take it. We'll share the results in a couple of weeks.

From my perspective, the "big bang" implementations are far fewer these days, and also a less likely approach. There are some cases where a company's IT systems are so outdated that a rip and replace still makes sense, but more often, we've been seeing more and more piece meal work, as part of a larger strategic vision.

When thinking about SAP, this tends to be around Business Objects, HCM and CRM lately, and for Oracle, more around niche industry solutions that they have acquired (in areas like retail, banking, communications), followed by their BI products, which are much more fragmented than SAP's offerings.

In any case, if you'd like to take the survey, click here.
